We began our morning prior to Rouen
with a large rainbow outside the manoir. I began taking this video when
I saw the girls twirling in the remainder of the leaves.
As
we drove to Rouen, we lost count of how many rainbows we saw along the
road. We met back up with Chris in the afternoon, after his meeting at
he university and our McDonald's adventure. We traveled down into the
city of Rouen.
The kids were so excited to find a playground behind this cathedral.
Lots of running & playing in our winter fun!
A tribute to Claude Monet down one of the streets in Rouen.
We were trying to find the famous town square.
The clock tower & the view from the clock tower window. Amazing! I loved watching the florist on the street taking such pride in putting his arrangements together. Each flower was handled with such care.
This was the town where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake.
A cross was placed in that spot to honor her.
Oh, to be that brave & trust the Lord in so many ways! Jacob said it best when he wrote in his school journal, " I went to Rouen. I saw where Joan of Arc died. There was a wall of fire around her when she died. Joan of Arc believed in God. Joan of Arc fought for what was right. I saw in her heart that she was good."

How charming is this town!! Did you know that this is also the town was where Julia Child had her first meal in France. Bon Appetit!!
(I've heard of people (not to mention anyone's name ;) ) - not seeing this movie - such a fun film - Meryl Streep did such a great job being Julia Child - rent it today for a date night with a fun night of cooking or baking something yummy)
At the end of our time in Rouen, we went up the famous clock tower towards the center square. Chris and I both took the audio tour and the kids listened to a version of Alice in Wonderland as they learned facts about the clock tower. Chris and I both said we wished we had done the kid tour. ;)
